Children’s (pediatric) ultrasound imaging of the abdomen is a safe, noninvasive test that uses sound waves to produce a clear picture of the internal organs and blood vessels within your child’s abdomen. Ultrasound does not use ionizing radiation, has no known harmful effects, and is particularly valuable for evaluating abdominal, pelvic or scrotal pain in children.ghnfdghbfghc bfb fgn

Advantages of ultrasound in pediatric population are

  • Safe, painless, non-invasive.
  • It is free of any ionizing radiation (in contrast to that encountered in x-ray and CT scan examinations), hence one of the safest of imaging techniques.
  • Allows real-time visualization of pathology.
  • Relatively inexpensive compared to other imaging modalities.
  • Simultaneous Colour Doppler evaluation is possible.
  • No need for intravascular contrast administration (in contrast to CT scan)
  • Generally no need to sedate the child.
  • No claustrophobia (as seen in MRI studies)

We offer a wide range of specialized and routine pediatric ultrasound examinations which aid in diagnosing a variety of common and rare pediatric ailments-
